It's a fair question. Bluetooth trackers are powerful — and the same technology that helps you find keys could, in theory, be misused. Here's exactly how QCOQ protects you.
The short answer: No, and here's why
QCOQ trackers work with Apple Find My (iOS) and our own Android app, both of which include multiple anti-stalking protections that detect and alert you to unknown trackers traveling with you.
Layer 1: iPhone detection
Every iPhone running iOS 14.5+ continuously scans for unknown Bluetooth trackers. If one has been traveling with you for a while without its owner nearby, you'll get a notification: "Item Detected Near You."
Layer 2: Android scanner app
Android users: our free app includes a manual "Scan for trackers" feature. It detects QCOQ, AirTag, Tile, and other major brands nearby — so you can check anytime.
Layer 3: Audio alerts from the tracker itself
A QCOQ separated from its owner for 8-24 hours starts emitting an audible chirp every few minutes. Someone carrying an unwanted tracker will hear it.
Layer 4: Serial number lookup
Anyone who finds a QCOQ can scan it with any smartphone to see instructions and a disable code — no app required.
Layer 5: We cooperate with law enforcement
If a QCOQ is being used to harass someone, local authorities can request ownership info. We respond to legitimate requests within 24 hours.
What to do if you suspect unwanted tracking
- Check your iPhone notifications or run an Android scan
- Listen for the chirp
- Remove the battery when you find it
- Contact local authorities if you feel threatened
- Email safety@qcoq.com — we can help trace ownership
Your safety is more important than any sale.
